Florida West Coast Woodworkers

April Regular Meeting

For our April meeting, we were honored to have Art Worth bring is lath down from Safety Harbor to demonstrate some unusual box turning.Art puts on a great program and we all wished he had more than an hour. We used a video camera and projector to get close to what Art was doing  and give people in the back of good view. These crazy little boxes are first turned with normal centers. After they are separated into tops and bottoms and hollowed out, he re-chuck’s them in the lathe, and takes material off of opposite sides on the top and bottom. The result is a pretty crazy looking box.
