We had 27 Members and one guest, Rick Bermann , present at the April meeting. For the third month in a row we had a guest speaker. After the treasurers report president Al introduced our guest speaker, Ralph Bagnal.

Plastic in Woodworking
His topic was Plastics and Woodworking.
The presentation was quite detailed and members who are interested are encouraged to view the pdf presentation.
Ralph began the presentation by explaining the different uses and properties of polycarbonate, nylon, styrene [ABS], PVC, polypropylene, and acrylic. Different bits and blades are used for each type. [See his notes]
His presentation included tips and suggestions for cutting, milling, and forming different types of plastic.

2X4 Contest
Daryl announced the procedure for registering entries and for voting have been updated and are posted to the club website. The Contest will be part of the June membership meeting.
Show & Tell:
John Theimer – model boat made from pine wood with basswood motor. Measured 15” long and 6” wide.
Gregg Merrithew – Quilt stand featuring lap joints and band saw pattern work. It was finished with Danish oil, polyurethane, and wax.
Floyd Yoder – a turned basswood dish
Larry Simmons – a table constructed from African mahogany with cherry legs and a birds eye maple inlay. Table measured 40X84
Daryl DuBre – Four corbels made from poplar and measuring 12X8X4.
Gregg Casagrande – A video presentation demonstrating how to make a dowl jig using angle iron.
Fred Damianos – Brazilian cherry handles for garden tools.
